Having Arrabida as natural border, Azeitão region is located in the district of Setubal and was an important center of Roman occupation and Arab colonization. It was during this colonization that its name was originated, from the word "Azzeitum" , because of the olive trees found there. Located in the Natural Park of Arrábida, of an incomparable beauty, where the blue sea with alternating shades of whitish limestone cliffs and thick blanket of green vegetation that covers the mountains. Arrábida was considered an international scientific relic.
