Nestled in the slopes of Kagurazaka, this classic, designer home is surrounded by green, and has high ceilings and abundant window space that allows for natural light to fill the home. The living room area was designed to open up to the back-yard terrace, making the indoor and outdoor area seem seamless. The glass sliding doors disappear behind the walls, and the flooring was also specially selected to create continuity from the living room into the terrace. Kagurazaka is located near the Imperial Palace, and during the Edo period the neighborhood was renowned for its numerous Ryotei restaurants and Geisha houses along the cobblestone alleyways, that still exists as part of its charm. The tree lined streets are filled with an interesting mix of traditional Japanese shops, selling items such as kimono and specialty confectionaries, and European style cafes and restaurants.
