As a dynamic, successful agent for Russ Lyon Sotheby's International Realty, Jean Ransdell's days are best described as busy, challenging and rewarding -- but never, ever routine.

" I cannot imagine this career ever getting boring," she says. "Each day brings new homes, new experiences, and best of all, exciting new people into my life."

Born and raised in Illinois, Ransdell also lived for some time in New Jersey. Twelve years ago, she purchased a second home in Scottsdale, and several years later, decided to make the Valley of the Sun her permanent residence. "What's not to like about living in a top rated vacation destination 24/7?"

"We have always loved it here," she says, recalling her family's ties to the area. "Two of my three children have either graduated or are currently enrolled at ASU." Ransdell, herself a graduate of the University of Delaware, originally worked as a sales representative before becoming a very happy stay-at-home mom after her youngest child was born. But as she puts it, she's had real estate in her blood for many years, beginning with taking a Real Estate Licensing course over two decades ago. Later, when her children were still quite young, this powerhouse agent dabbled in property management and found she still had a keen taste for the industry.

"I really enjoyed property management and thought a more expansive career in real estate was the next logical step because it allowed me to blend my professional sales ability and my personal love of houses," she says. "It's definitely been a win-win career decision for me."

When not busy listing and selling some of the area's most desirable homes, Ransdell says she loves nothing more than spending time with her family, which includes 3 children ages 27, 24, and 22 years old, our two beloved canine companions, German Shepherds Logan and Honey, along with "quite a few sweet cats. My friends joke that in their next life, they want to come back as one of my pets because I treat them so well," she says with a grin.

Turning a bit more introspective, this self-described addicted runner and hiker ("I'm out there daily on the Pinnacle Peak trail") notes that she offers her clients a philosophy of success that is second to none. "I'm smart, energetic and creative, but most of all, with every single one of my clients, I try, try and try again until I succeed," she says. "I work, and then work some more and never give up until I am successful at what they hired me to do."
