Waylon Jennings likely had a man like Clayton Warren in mind when wailing "Mamas Don't Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys." Though he didn't become a doctor or lawyer or such, Clayton is a Registered Petroleum Landman in Fort Worth, Texas and a licensed real estate agent at Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty.

Growing up in Prosper, Texas, Warren quickly learned to work hard and play hard by herding the family cattle, performing as linebacker for the Prosper High School football team (all district honorable mention), and team roping on his quarter horses, Freckles and Slim. The Warrens spent as much time as possible on their ranch in Junction or on the coast of Port Aransas chasing trout.

Warren was a member of Kappa Alpha Order at Texas Tech University, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in animal science. Most of his post-college time was spent day working on West Texas ranches and chasing ranch rodeos. After a stint in sales and insurance, he excelled as a field landman in Fort Worth.

Most recently, he is the founder and co-owner of Tomahawk Land Resources, LLC, his self-started company for oil and gas brokerage services. An active member of Christ Chapel Bible Church, Warren is involved in service projects as well as Bible Study Fellowship. He is a member of several organizations within the oil and gas community and is a volunteer at the annual Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. Along with his Briggs Freeman Sotheby's International Realty partner Harlan Ray, Warren attends the Cowboy Spring Gathering in Palo Pinto each year, full of rodeo events, teepees, cowboy camaraderie, campfires and, of course, coffee.

Never one to sit still, on the weekends you will find Warren competing for belt buckles in team ropings across the state or blowing off steam at CrossFit Seven in Fort Worth. When it comes to road trips, Warren prefers to take his Dodge pickup on a trek to Big Bend and down into Mexico. Yet when it's time to take it easy, grilling in the backyard with his red healer Sage and wife Elizabeth is his ideal night. For Warren, not much can beat a Texas sunset with family, friends, good conversation and a cold beer.
