Originally a Chicago native, Vivian first came to San Diego to attend California Western University in Point Loma. After two years in San Diego, she opted for a new life in Mexico City, spending two years and graduating from Universidad Internacional de Mexico with a degree in Spanish literature.
Now fluent in Spanish and eager to travel, she embarked on a career as a flight attendant for American Airlines, flying international trips based out of Chicago. She was the designated Spanish speaker on flights to Mexico City and Acapulco.
In 1978 she left the airlines and obtained her Illinois real estate license. One of her first projects in Chicago’s Gold Coast was participating in sales for the newly converted condominiums in the 100 story John Hancock building.
Selling luxury properties included stately co-ops, condominiums, brownstones and other premier properties along beautiful Lake Shore Drive, State Parkway, Astor Street and East Lake Shore Drive.
This was the perfect transition to real estate in Southern California, more specifically, Rancho Santa Fe.
Vivian’s family moved to Rancho Santa Fe in 1982 to race, breed & syndicate thoroughbred horses between Del Mar, Santa Anita and Hollywood Park. The highlight was being at Churchill Downs in 2002, when her husband’s horse ran in The Kentucky Derby.
The excitement of racing is still a large part of every summer for her when Del Mar is running.
She obtained a California real estate license in 1985 and worked closely with her husband who was a builder in Rancho Santa Fe. Vivian worked at Fairbanks Ranch Realty when the lots were first being sold, sometimes selling homes from plans. She has an excellent working knowledge of new home construction in addition to home re-sales.
Vivian has helped homeowners all over North County achieve their real estate goals for over 25 years in Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Del Mar, La Jolla, Solana Beach, Cardiff & Encinitas and is proud to be associated with Pacific Sotheby’s International Realty.
