Ruth Gilbert joined Atlantic Bay Sotheby's on a part time basis in 2011 after a successful 30 year career as an independent broker on the lower Cape. She started her real estate career in 1980 and opened her own office, Ruth Gilbert Real estate in 1990. Her experience includes all aspects of real estate, including commercial, residential and land transactions. She has watched the development and changes in the Provincetown market over the past 3 decades and can claim that there are several houses in Provincetown that she has sold 3 times or more. As a year round member of the Provincetown community, Ruth first served on the Planning Board in the 1980s and was an active board member of the PSAG. Beginning in 1990 she served 2 full terms on the finance committee, ending her 18 year appointment in 2009. She currently serves as a board member of the Provincetown Art association and Museum. Now, as a part time affiliate, she spends most of the winter in South Beach and the rest of the year in Provincetown. Her other interests include traveling, reading, volunteering and entertaining family and friends. Ruth arrived in Provincetown after college in 1973. She has made Provincetown her home ever since.
