Mt Albert Station is located at the head waters of Lake Wanaka near the small village of Makarora in the Queenstown Lakes District.

Positioned on the main tourist route from the Southern Lakes region to Haast Pass, the property is just 40 minutes drive from the Wanaka Airport.

This large high country property comprises of both pastoral lease and freehold titles spanning over 12,780 hectares (some 31,580 acres) in area. A large scale sheep and cattle farm operates on the property running approximately 13,500 stock units.

To the western side of the property, glaciated valleys extend up into the high country and reach out to touch Mt Aspiring National Park – A World Heritage Area. This area comprises of extensive river flats and dramatic alpine terrain.

On the Makarora side of the property, the freehold land extends approximately 18 km up both sides of the Makarora River. Over 800 hectares (1,976 acres) of paddocks in this area provide the engine room of the farming operation.

From the head of Lake Wanaka, the farm extends over five kilometres along the western side of the lake where a small freehold title exits at the lake shore. It is here that the property borders Minaret Station.
