There are fifty seven solid pine doors that are 150 years old and original 1820 gas lanterns from Edinburgh, Scotland illuminate the front door. The marble was handpicked in Portugal and brought over specifically for this home. Solid marble columns' line the grand entry and open unto the formal living room. Stunning marble spiral staircase that features a hand carved pine ceiling leads you to the second floor. The den was hand carved in the 18th Century by the master wood carver to King George I. It was completely dismantled in England, brought over and reassembled here by an English architect, two English artisans, an erector, and a polisher that adapted the panels to fit the walls of this house just for the homeowner. The living room has a massive marble fireplace and marble floors along with a ceiling of 36 ornate hand carved squares consisting of wood and plaster. In the large dining room, there are beautiful mahogany floors with inlaid oak and a Waterford Crystal Chandelier. You will be taken back by the intricate St. Joe's brick vaulted ceiling in the kitchen which was copied from a 300 year old Lisbon house. The kitchen has new appliances and cabinetry, a wet bar, and a hand painted tile back splash. The breakfast room is adjacent to the kitchen and has a spectacular, plaster ceiling with layered handmade "wedding cake" details and a woven basket design. The eight sided master suite has mahogany floors and crystal chandelier and scones. French doors in the master lead onto the marble floor balcony with an imported iron railing. The master bath has two water closets, a bidet, a large oval skylight that hovers over the pair of white onyx sinks in the middle of the room. Also in the master bath, there is a sauna and a one of a kind sunken Jacuzzi with wonderful hand painted imported tiles. Off the master, you have staff quarters with a private bath and stairway. There is a additional bedroom on the main level with a solid marble bath. Upstairs, there are 2 additional guest suites with private baths and a morning kitchen. Additional features include a separate fry kitchen with a commercial range hood and an elevator which leads to the master bedroom suite upstairs.
