The Beachy Head development designed by world famous architects Stefan Antoni/Olmesdahl/Truen in association with Simplicitas Architects is perched on a prominent hill in Plettenberg Bay overlooking the Piesang River valley, Robberg and Beacon Isle beaches with vistas of the lagoon and famous Beacon Island Hotel. This contemporary, modern and unique development offers the buyer privacy, security, yet prominence with a unique signature style associated with the world's best architects. The four houses are each designed uniquely to have privacy, maximum views, light and exposure. The development has its own secure access and control to ensure maximum security. The houses roughly consist of 450-500 square meters respectively. The plans vary to include four bedrooms with en suite bathrooms, a pyjama lounge/TV room, separate servants room, yard and garages. An open plan indoor/outdoor living, dining, kitchen and outside pool area forms the nucleus around which the house evolves. Although the contemporary architectural lines of the houses are paramount there are subtle references to the surroundings with the use of wood and rustic finishes here and there. It is therefore both contemporary, rustic and unconventional. These recurring paradoxes make for an interesting and unique project full of feeling and soul. An in depth study of the climate and specific characteristics of the plot determined the layout and positioning of the houses to ensure the most natural light, protection from prevailing winds, privacy and maximum views. The detailing of the design is visible throughout and the finishes and structural elements are a lesson in construction in and of themselves to bring about a development which is state of the art, stylish, unique, sought after yet rustic, simple and relaxed.
