About Residing in a castle by a loop in the Nidda River

Residing in a castle by a loop in the Nidda River The castle was built by the well-known Munich architect Gabriel von Seidl at the behest of Count Waldemar of Oriola und his wife Anna Maria Berna during the Bavarian Regency period in the late 1800s. Gabriel von Seidl designed a large number of buildings that are still renowned today, for example the German Museum in Munich, the Bavarian National Museum, the rondell buildings at Stachus Square in Munich, Romrod Castle and Lerbach Castle in Bensberg as well as many more. Oriola was the grandson of well-known authors Achim and Bettina von Armin. Numerous members of the noble House of Bismarck resided at this unique estate on the Nidda, as did German Empress Viktoria. The stately ground level residence with a generously proportioned garden is graced by valuable masterpieces of interior design as well as the artistry of cabinetmakers, stucco plasterers and stone masons. The walls of the study were embellished by Otto Hupp in 1894. Many special details combined to create the one-of-a-kind character of this residence, starting with the elaborate craftsmanship adorning the doors, ceilings, pillars and walls. When you enter the living quarters, you experience a very special kind of grand entrance hall, entirely in the style of the 19th century with an open fireplace and generous proportions. The living area - a former ballroom in which the German Empress Viktoria herself danced – is an inviting spot to relax. The open fireplace and gallery as well as the unique ceiling and pillar embellishments make it an outstandingly impressive living area. The light-flooded bedrooms with a view of the lovely garden are exceedingly peaceful and restful. The study with mural paintings by Otto Hupp has a separate entrance and is also ideal for use as an office. These extraordinary living quarters seem more like a one-of-kind villa, also offering a unique dining room with a bay window and elaborate stucco plasterwork and ceiling paintings. Exclusive details: - 400 sq m of living area - 1,500 sq m castle garden - master bedroom with fireplace and en suite bath - 2 bedrooms, en suite bath - audio / video door surveillance system - 3 carport parking spaces in the protected courtyard area - floor heating with thermostat control - triple glazed window system consisting of historic exterior windows and double glazed interior windows - bathrooms with fixtures designed by Philip Starck - professional kitchen with lofty vaulted ceiling, cooking island and gas stove - wine cellar with vaulted ceiling and framed bays - study with mural paintings and open fireplace - living room with minstrels’ gallery and 270 degree exposure to natural light - guest apartment with separate entrance The castle is situated amidst a lovely, peaceful landscape on the periphery of the Wetterau District, right next to the loop of the Nidda River.
