The waters of the Bay and the Great Harbor are considered some of the best boating waters in the world. Northeast Harbor and the other villages on the island have quaint shops, art galleries and excellent dining. Bar Harbor airport is about a 15 minute drive and has private aviation facilities as well as regular flights to Boston. Bangor International Airport is about an hour away and offers flights to many destinations.
