Casa de Santo António is situated in one of the most interesting hills of Lisbon, where the history of the city was adding over time, composing and reshaping spaces without losing its identity. The Casa de Santo António, still preserves traces of its pre-pombalina, based on pre-1755 structures terramoro, still saving some earliest traces of medieval times. Respecting the nineteenth traces of the facade, the pragmatic solution harnessing slopes provided a breathtaking view of the river and Baixa, about to be considered by UNESCO World Heritage. Result of a work of restoration and adaptation, Casa de Santo António was considered unique work, the innovative project encompassing pioneering technology in housing, using materials and equipment of the highest quality, which provide a unique commodity, preserving with greater rigor its historical identity. Casa de Santo António has been awarded the most important prize for Urban Rehabilitation in Portugal, SIL, in 2011.
