Rick was born in Boston and lived in Massachusetts for much of his life before visiting Brooklyn 12 years ago and making it his new home. He was attracted immediately to the vibrancy of Brooklyn's urban neighborhoods and the diverse architecture that make up the borough.
Rick entered the real estate profession almost by accident, having gained his first taste for the business as a buyer. Through the course of his adult life, he purchased many properties in Boston's historic South End, a neighborhood of mid-nineteenth century Victorian architecture. It is this aesthetic which inspired Rick's further interest in real estate. He began by renovating his own residences and then serving as an advisor to friends who did the same. This instilled a keen ability to listen to the living needs of those around him and channel that into actionable design.
It is this ability which Rick brought to Brooklyn 12 years ago and made his entrance into real estate a natural progression. Brooklyn's diverse neighborhoods and Rick's down-to-earth manner of interaction with the public combined to form a dynamic match with real estate. He joined a local brokerage firm where he has spent the past nine years. The "local" nature of this business eventually proved limiting, and Rick joined the Sotheby's Group in 2012 to take advantage of the breadth of resources that its international operations offer.
Rick has adapted to many changes in Brooklyn real estate over the years. He has used his knowledge of Brooklyn's evolving neighborhoods to benefit his clients, who appreciate his honesty, ability to understand their needs and match them with appropriate solutions. In his nine years in real estate, Rick has sold over 100 properties. In addition, in partnership with developers, builders and purchasers, he has sold out five new developments. He was featured in The Real Deal, a publication of New York City real estate, for the sale of a deteriorated farm house in Park Slope that was transformed into luxury residences.
On a personal level, Rick lives with his longtime partner and family of three French bulldogs in Park Slope. He is the father of three adult children and when not working for his clients, he enjoys cooking, gardening and spending quality time with family and friends.
