Art Shivers has been a lifetime resident of the beautiful and diverse San Francisco Bay Area since 1970, and has forged a deep connection to the people and the vibrant culture of the local community which enables him to offer an immersive and consultative approach when interacting with buyers and sellers of real property. He offers his clients a finely-honed negotiation skill set, meticulous attention to detail, and 10 years of licensed agency experience. Art works with residential buyers and sellers, both novice and experienced. His mission is to provide ethical representation always while helping clients to build net worth and achieve their financial goals through strategic real estate investing. Additionally, he makes it a priority to treat all his business relationships as unique and special, and to always offer solutions that are extensively tailored to the individual client.

Prior to joining Golden Gate Sotheby's International Realty, Art Shivers commenced his real estate career in 2003 working in residential mortgage underwriting at Bank of America Home Loans. In 2005, he deepened his knowledge of residential real estate finance and servicing by joining the new loan audit team with Irwin Home Equity, in San Ramon, California where he was a key figure in the risk management process of correspondent mortgage account servicing migrations.

This nurtured the desire to move in to Bay Area residential sales which became the obvious choice of career path to follow. Art has now been successfully selling residential real estate in the San Francisco Bay Area ever since 2007. As a result of making the transition to the residential specialization, Art has developed a passion for working with investor clients and in the acquisition and resale of high value single family and multi-family redevelopment opportunities in the Walnut Creek and Lamorinda communities, spearheading such common issues of cosmetic redesign and functional obsolescence; it is the point where business, art and architecture are allowed to dance and mingle, bringing a breath of life back to properties of bygone eras. When bringing properties to market, he guides his team of construction and staging professionals to reinvent living spaces with finesse and style - a skill that he has garnered from his past work in fine jewelry retail merchandising - to create allure and a vision that piques the interest of buyers. Art has earned the Accredit Buyer Representative designation, the coveted benchmark of excellence in buyer representation and is a member of the Contra Costa Association or Realtors in Walnut Creek, California in good standing since 2007.

Art graduated from Pittsburg Senior High School in Pittsburg, California where he was active in campus social events, studied art and advanced Spanish linguistics, and played competitively for the junior varsity tennis team. He completed his Associates in Arts degree at Los Medanos College and later transferred to California State University, East Bay to pursue a Bachelor's degree with a focus in Digital Graphic Arts. In his personal spare time, he attends courses at California State University, East Bay with a goal of earning his MBA. Art is an enthusiast of fine wines, both new world and old. Mr. Shivers is currently a resident of the local community of Concord, California and enjoys experiencing the regional culinary renaissance that has taken hold in the San Francisco Bay Area. He also enjoys jogging, water skiing, snow skiing, reading, listening to music, and taking walks on the beach. When not at home, Art can be found spending quality time with friends and family in San Francisco, Healdsburg, and Carmel, California.
