Stewart was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and grew up in Potomac MD. Stewart attended the Bullis School where he played 4 years of varsity tennis and soccer and was selected for the All Metropolitan soccer team his senior year. Stewart earned a BS in Real Estate Finance from American University.

Stewart spent his early career years working for the family real estate business spending time in several divisions including residential and commercial property management, residential sales and commercial leasing and sales. While attending college he completed the Certified Commercial Investment Member 101 course (CCIM) and was the designated the firm's in-house commercial brokers support person responsible for investment sales and leasing analysis. Upon earning his degree in 1986 Stewart accepted a position with the Hazel Peterson Companies as a Land Development Manager. Stewart was assigned to the Crosspointe subdivision in Fairfax VA. As the developers representative Stewart worked closely with the land engineers and was responsible for final plat recordation for 28 sections consisting of 1,400 finished building lots, a 50 acre lake, dam and pump station. Additional responsibilities included daily meetings and supervision of William A Hazel crews who cleared the land, built the roads and installed underground utilities. Upon completion of each section Stewart delivered the completed lots to 8 of the area's finest home builders.

Upon completing Crosspointe in 1990 Stewart took a position with Harvey Development Company as Development Manager. Stewart was responsible for coordinating the development team that acquired property located at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and Bradley Boulevard in Bethesda, MD. The project consisted of the demolition of the existing structure and construction of a 3 level 180,000 square foot retail building. Stewart was also involved with the leasing of the space to multiple retailers including Woodward & Lothrop Home Furnishings.

Stewart founded and was the Managing Member of Money for Life, a local life insurance specialty firm in 1998. Stewart appraised over $5,000,000,000 in insurance contracts for financial advisors around the country and successfully negotiated the assignment with institutional investors including Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank and multiple hedge funds.

Stewart has most recently teamed up with Maggie Shannon, Vice President TTR Sotheby's International Realty. The unique combination of skill sets provide our clients with unparalleled representation for all of their real estate needs. There many years of combined real estate experience enable them to manage client expectations while delivering exceptional personal service.

Stewart resides in North Bethesda and enjoys hiking, biking, surfing and golf at Columbia Country Club in Chevy Chase MD where he has a single digit handicap.
