Welcome to a unique home dating back to 1680 that’s filled with the echoes of history. It’s located on a venerable block in Mariefred, next to the church, adjacent to the famous Carlanderska Gården local museum, and close to the Gripsholm Inn. The house dates back to the 16th century, as it is believed that the cellar vaults existed before the great fire of Mariefred in the 17th century, and retained when the house was subsequently rebuilt. In 2002, the house underwent a total renovation by its previous owner, including the restoration of the tiled stoves. All fireplaces are currently in order. The facade was re-plastered in 2004, and geothermal heating was installed in 2007. Main floor The entrance leads into a hall with a separate guest lavatory and a stairway to the upper floor. History Welcome to friendly Mariefred, a town that dates back to the 1370s, when it grew around the Marias fred (Mary’s peace) monastery.
