A propos de cette propriété

Welcome to a unique home dating back to 1680 that’s filled with the echoes of history. It’s located on a venerable block in Mariefred, next to the church, adjacent to the famous Carlanderska Gården local museum, and close to the Gripsholm Inn. It’s a picturesque house in a quiet setting with a lake view from a little private garden. It’s been renovated and has well-preserved ceiling paintings, floors and interior doors. The renovated cellar vaults with their exposed brick walls date back centuries and can be used as a spa and/or wine cellar. The property measures 714 m2 and includes a verdant planted garden with level lawns and apple trees, all surrounded by protective hedges and a wall. From the outdoor grill area, you can see Lake Mälaren and Gripsholm Castle. There’s a paved patio and a partially roofed sundeck. Only two minutes’ walk to a jetty, and to the convenient local services in Mariefred. The house dates back to the 16th century, as it is believed that the cellar vaults existed before the great fire of Mariefred in the 17th century, and retained when the house was subsequently rebuilt. In 2002, the house underwent a total renovation by its previous owner, including the restoration of the tiled stoves. All fireplaces are currently in order. The facade was re-plastered in 2004, and geothermal heating was installed in 2007. Main floor The entrance leads into a hall with a separate guest lavatory and a stairway to the upper floor. To the left, there is an entrance to a beautiful room with wide floor boards and well-preserved ceiling paintings. Green tiled stove and light coloured painted walls. You can enjoy a view of the church through the lovely transom windows. Continue in to the library with its beautiful ceiling painting, lovely wide floorboards and a green tiled stove. Next comes the dining room with its lake view, and again, with beautiful ceilings and floor and light-coloured walls. Now, enter the modernized working kitchen with a dining area near the window. Light-coloured walls and clinker tile floor. The cabinets are warm beige, and there is a brick cooker hood over wood-burning stove and induction hob. Black granite kitchen counters with built-in sink, pebbled wall above the counters. Modern white goods from Cylinda, including a dishwasher, refrigerator/freezer and a black built-in oven. Two bedrooms with a fantastic lake view. Both the bedrooms have beautiful, well-preserved wooden floors and light-coloured walls, and are connected Fully-tiled shower room with white tiles and an electrically-heated grey clinker floor. Washing machine and dryer by Elektrolux, as well as a corner shower stall with glass doors. Toilet and washstand. Separate sauna. Upper floor The upper floor has a hall leading to two bedrooms and a shower room, which is partially tiled in grey, with the rest painted white. There’s a corner shower stall under a sloping ceiling, toilet and washstand. Two bedrooms, one of which enjoys a lake view through semi-circular windows. The upper level has a new linoleum floor, newly painted white walls, and skylights that let in plenty of light to the upper hall and TV room. Cellar vault The seller has meticulously renovated the cellar vault into a tasteful spa area with a bathtub and exercise room and everything you need to relax. The fireplace and comfortably heated slate floor, as well as brick walls and ceiling/vaults enhance the feeling of history. History Welcome to friendly Mariefred, a town that dates back to the 1370s, when it grew around the Marias fred (Mary’s peace) monastery. During the Reformation, the monastery was torn down, but there remnants of it still south of Mariefred Church, just where the house at Klostergatan 3 stands today.
