Born and raised in Kassel, Germany, Stephan has been a resident of the United States since 1984 where she originally settled on Anna Maria Island. Since 1992 she has been a resident of Lido Key. She earned a law degree from the University of Heidelberg and worked for Commerzbank, one of Europe's oldest and finest institutions. Upon arriving in Southwest Florida she turned her interest and passion for fine antique automobiles into an extremely successful international business. Karin's innovative ideas in the customization of Porsche automobiles earned her recognition by Porsche. Her ingenuity led to the Porsche 944 being manufactured using Karin's design criteria.
In 1992, after several successful personal real estate investments, she turned her aptitude for real estate into a full time career. With an international customer base that included elite clientele from her auto business, Stephan quickly established herself as one of Sarasota's top producers. As a top producer, Karin has listed numerous international properties including a Castle Bed and Breakfast with a private vineyard located on the Rhine River in Germany and most recently a unrivaled 37+ acre estate in Rochester, New York.
She continues to participate in numerous international real estate trade shows and exhibitions and has been recognized for her skills in sales, advertising, marketing and financial management.
The landing of a feature for the German television show "Traumhaus am Meer", translated to "Dream Home by the Sea", in Sarasota lends credence to the kind of marketing innovation required in a challenging market as well as reflecting the kind of creative thinking that has kept Stephan very successful in all market conditions. Karin was the main impetus behind VOX network doing it first American-based episode.
In her spare time, Karin enjoys sailing, skiing, scuba diving, tennis and has been actively involved with and an ongoing sponsor of the Sarasota Open Tennis Tournament.
