Joe Cutajar hails from Dearborn Heights, Michigan, a suburb of Detroit. However, Joe is no stranger to Amelia Island. To escape the cold winters, Joe first came to Amelia in 1983 as an intern at the now Omni Amelia Island Plantation from the Culinary Institute of America located in Hyde Park, New York. After graduating from Chef's College, Joe returned to OAIP and spent 7 years as a chef in various restaurants throughout the beachfront resort. In 1990, Joe was recruited to work for the PGA Tour where he spent the next seven years in their TPC club network, most recently as the Director of Food and Beverage at national headquarters of the PGA TOUR, TPC Sawgrass. In 1997, Joe returned home to Amelia as the General Manager of the Amelia Island Club, the private club within the community of Omni Amelia Island Plantation. In 2002, Joe, (known by many as the "Mayor of Amelia") was presented the opportunity to utilize his unique skills of customer service and intimate knowledge of Amelia, its culture and residents and became a Real Estate Sales Executive at OAIP. During his tenure with OAIP Joe has consistently ranked as one of the, if not the top sales agent on OAIP and is a Florida Licensed Real Estate Broker. His enthusiasm for Amelia, as well as the fiduciary responsibility that he feels toward his clients has helped Joe create a strong presence in the real estate market. Joe's appreciation for the community, natural beauty and lifestyle of the area makes working with him a pleasure. Passionately committed to striving for excellence, Joe ensures that every real estate experience his clients have is a positive one. With news of Manormor Sotheby's International Realty coming to Amelia, Joe knew it was like the pairing of great food and fine wine and has hung his shingle with this global real estate company artfully uniting extraordinary homes with extraordinary lives. Joe resides with his children in a turn of the century home in the historic district of Amelia Island, Joe enjoys backpacking in the mountains with his three sons, fishing the backwaters of Amelia Island, tennis and Amelia's un-crowded beaches. Joe is active in the community as a volunteer and serves on various boards and committees.
