It is also unique in that the property contains 20 acres and is only five minutes from a golf course and 10 minutes from an international airport. The historic city of Puerto Plata with great shopping and restaurants is also only minutes away. An interesting perspective is that the average lot size for a villa of this caliber and price of $2,740 per square meter is typically 2,000 to 3,000 square meters. However, Las Uvas has nearly 85,000 square meters, and as such, there is an additional 82,000 square meters, or roughly 20 more acres included in this price. LIFESTYLE COMMENTS: This Farm and Ranch property could be more aptly called a City Ranch. Again, it is in the city of Puerto Plata and is close to the commercial center; it is less than 15 minutes to the Puerto Plata International Airport, and less than 10 minutes to the Playa Dorada Golf Course and Resort. That being said, the property is not within a gated community. Moreover, the drive to the property from the main road in Puerto Plata winds through local Dominican neighborhoods. As is true with the rest of the Dominican Republic, the people are friendly and part of a very warm and gracious culture. Once you arrive at the entry gate to Las Uvas, however, all is different. The main house was built on an plateau with breathtaking views in a very lush and private setting.
