Stephen McRae, Senior Vice President and Associate Broker, became involved with New York City real estate in 1987 while practicing architecture. He joined Sotheby's International Realty in 1996, specializing in downtown Manhattan properties. Stephen helped to establish and has since been instrumental in the growth of the Sotheby's International Realty SoHo brokerage office.

Principally involved in the sale of all high-end property types, including lofts, townhouses, and highly finished residential cooperatives and condominiums, Stephen has consistently represented the sale of some of the company's most exclusive New York properties.

Stephen's extensive architectural background, including his tenure with the architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, allows him to aid purchasers in visualizing a property's layout potential and, conversely, to assist sellers in achieving the maximum potential for their property.

Stephen earned a bachelor's degree in architectural history and French, with a minor in mathematics and German, from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He holds a master's of architecture degree from Columbia University in New York City.
