Shelly has always had an interest in the psychology of sales and marketing which led her to graduating in the top 5% of her class with a BSc (Honors) in Psychology from the University of Northumbria in the United Kingdom in 1997. With one of the most prestigious educations available in the UK, Shelly moved to the Balearic Isles to begin her client facing career, starting in the hotel industry. After exceeding all targets and being fast-tracked to the manager of one of the islands' busiest hotels, Shelly decided it was time to move to the USA (via the French Alps and Barbados), a childhood dream. Shelly obtained her broker's license immediately after gaining her sales associate license and became the broker/owner of her own company, Papillon Real Estate, in Miami in 2006. Papillon Real Estate, also branded as The Coral Gables Story, was nominated as finalist of the Coral Gables Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year. This achievement came in the first year of the company's operation and only Shelly's second year in real estate.
