It stands tall and magical, spreading over nearly five acres and overlooking the green pastures of Torres Novas. Quinta do Marquês, as this magnificent castle is known, is an artful balance of Old Manueline style and late XIX century romantic period. Originally dating from the XVII century this masterpiece suffered extensive reconstruction in the final days of the XIX century under the guidance of its previous and illustrious owners the Condes da Foz. In the first two stories, with over 30 rooms and bedrooms, each with its own theme one can delight himself with the superb craftsmanship of traditional Portuguese Tiles and gilded wood. Quinta do Marquês is in a class of its own.
