A New York City native, John grew up on Manhattan's Upper East Side, where he attended the Buckley School. Before establishing his career in real estate, he worked on Wall Street for seven years, after studying art history and sociology at Roanoke College in Virginia. He was drawn to the Hamptons by its beautiful beaches and relaxed lifestyle, which seem a world apart from New York City.
