“Mike’s greatest strength is his ability to hold confidence with myself as a manager and with his real estate clientele, buyer and seller. He is a high achiever, a man of integrity and is totally trustworthy.” – Peter Walsh.
Mike Barnett has been selling real estate for over 30 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to every real estate transaction he is involved in. His passion for matching the right property with the right purchaser has given Mike an established sales history, a high profile in Canterbury and has resulted in over 70% of repeat business.
Some of his many high-profile property sales include Bushey Park Estate (marketed and sold three times), Raincliff Station, Caberfeidh Station (marketed and sold twice), Kaiwarua Station and several historic Canterbury homes.
Mike’s passion for rural property has originally sparked by his love for farming and the countryside. Previous to working in real estate, Mike worked the high country around the South Island as a deer culler and then farmed deer in his own right for 20 years. This experience has led to a thorough awareness of farming needs and assures confidence from his vendors.
Mike is completely committed to providing professional and experienced advice on all real estate matters and is most excited by achieving the best possible price for his clients.
Mike was originally raised and educated in Nairobi, Kenya and immigrated to New Zealand when he was 19. He and his wife, Adrienne have three children; their eldest daughter lives in Japan with her Japanese husband and son, his son is employed in the Irrigation industry, and their youngest daughter and her husband have one daughter and are farming sheep, cattle and grapes in Marlborough. In his free time, Mike enjoys fishing, hunting and yachting.
