Nestled behind a tree lined road frontage in a beautiful rural setting, sits one of the region’s first and finest luxury lodges. With accolades from the likes of Condé Nast, Remarkables Lodge has perfected the art of true hospitality on an historic country estate.

Remarkables Lodge is the original homestead of Remarkables Station and has developed a strong reputation through its years of operation. Queenstown's first European settler, William Rees, founded the Station during the Otago Goldrush of 1861. Since then four generations of Queenstown residents have farmed and cared for the land that still surrounds the lodge today.

Based on a design by Frank Lloyd Wright, the lodge is a building of character and charm that was built in the 1930s and extended and improved significantly in 2004. These improvements are in keeping with the original design and help cement the building’s character.

The lodge has seven generous rooms and guests are able to relax in front of the open fire place in the large but cosy lounge. Alternatively, they may utilise the adjoining billiards room and bar with outstanding views up to the Remarkables mountain range.

Up to thirty can be seated comfortably for dinner in the lodge’s dining room. Well known for its outstanding cuisine, the commercial kitchen will easily cater for larger groups in a less formal dining arrangement. Over two hectares of land provide plenty of room to cater for outdoor functions. The fabulous garden setting with lush flower beds, pool area and outdoor fireplace at the mountain foothills, together with the peaceful surrounding farmland, set the tone for a relaxing stay.

Completing this unique offering is an outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, sauna and spa pool for guests to enjoy. The lodge includes onsite staff accommodation for two plus a modern two storey manager’s home.
