Since graduating from the University of Cape Town and emigrating to the United States in 1980, Zelda Heller has risen to the top of her field. Specializing in Washington, D.C., and Maryland, she has consistently been in the top quarter of 1 percent of residential agents nationwide. Zelda joined TTR Sotheby's International Realty as Vice President in 2010 and has been the company-wide leader in volume sales ever since.
In December 2012, Zelda set a regional record by listing and selling the most expensive condo to trade in the Washington metropolitan area. At a price of $1,173 per square foot, Penthouse Unit 1801 at the Parc Somerset building in Chevy Chase, MD sold fo r $7,950,000. On April 15th, 2014, the same unit broke its own record, selling for $8,650,000 ($1,276 per square foot). Zelda represented the sellers for the transaction.
Between 2000 and 2008, Zelda served on the Board of Directors for National Capital Bank. She became the first woman to hold a spot on the Board in the institution's 100-year history. Zelda's other roles include board membership at the Musical Theater Cen ter, motivational speaking engagements, and her production of a benefit for the N.I.H. Children's Inn. In 2000, she co-authored "Deadly Truth", a historical novel set in apartheid-era South Africa.
