Michael Ward, GRI, began his career in real estate in 1980 and has consistently been one of the top-producing brokers in the Telluride region. He has achieved many sales records including the sale of the most expensive condo in Mountain Village in 2003, the highest price per square foot for a single family residence in Mountain Village in 2003, the most expensive single-family lot in Mountain Village in 2004, the most expensive condo in Telluride in 2005, second highest-priced home in Telluride in 2006, highest-priced development parcel in Mountain Village in 2011, highest-priced condo sale in Telluride for 2012.
He was a key participant in the development of two major condo projects (Viking Lodge in Telluride and the Lorian condos in Mountain Village), and a hotel project (The Hotel Telluride). He is currently involved in the development of a new 125-room hotel project in Mountain Village, the completion of the Villas at Cortina in Mountain Village, and is a partner in the development of 2.2 acres including 306,907 square feet of mixed use hotel, condo, and commercial space on the last large development parcel in the core of Telluride. Michael has owned two successful real estate companies in Telluride, Alpine Lodging & Real Estate, and Courtney-Ward and Associates.
Michael has been actively involved in leadership in the Colorado and Telluride Associations of REALTORS. He served a year as President of the Telluride Association of REALTORS and their REALTOR of the Year, six years on their Board of Directors, and a year as the Colorado Association of REALTOR' Southwest District Vice President. As such, he is intimately familiar with the wide range of issues affecting real estate transactions.
He obtained his GRI in 1991, a designation awarded by the National Association of REALTORS to a select group of REALTORS who have demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the residential real estate industry.
