Recognized by Architectural Digest as one of the world's top architects in 2006, Rocky Mountain architect Jim McLaughlin masterfully created the River House. Designed and built in the Arts and Crafts tradition of quality and refinement, the home is a showplace of extraordinary craftsmanship and attention to detail. All the woodwork, metal hardware, lighting, dovetailed cabinetry, and doors were custom designed and handcrafted by artisans from across the country.
THE LIVING SPACES
The open floor plan of the River House encourages interaction among its occupants. The great room is anchored on two sides by massive wood burning fireplaces, has vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, and numerous doors leading to a large stone patio. A cozy living room with wet bar sits just off the great room - a perfect place to watch a football game on TV. A separate reading/sitting room, that feels like a screened in porch with all of its windows, serves as a private indoor refuge. An office, well-appointed kitchen, mudroom, bathroom, and laundry room complete the lower level. The upstairs of the home offers 4 generous bedroom suites each with their own private covered deck areas to take in the magnificent setting.
This pristine property of 54 acres allows for further development, but needs no enhancement. Owners will enjoy approximately 1200 feet of private Snake River frontage to test their angling skills and enjoy the spectacular views of the Tetons. The backyard of the home borders a beautiful creek that is crossed by stone footbridges with a short trail leading to the Snake River. A fire pit with seating borders a natural pool for family and friends to share stories on those long summer nights. The mix of open lush meadows and thick forest serves as ideal habitat for the native wildlife.
Set in the heart of the Jackson Hole valley, the secluded River House offers a very convenient location. A scenic drive can lead you in 15 minutes to the airport, 20 minutes to the town of Jackson, and 25 minutes to Teton Village-home of the legendary Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. You are also just a short drive to Jackson Hole Golf and Tennis with its amenities of a Robert Trent Jones II designed 18 hole golf course, fine dining, swimming pool, gym, and tennis facility.
When Wyomingites talk about ties, it's generally in reference to fly-fishing. That's just one of the reasons our state and its 550,000 residents are the second happiest in the country according to a 2010 Gallup Healthways Well Being poll.
