From the onset of the project we had various lifestyle objectives. One objective was to create a unique Architecture to suite our lifestyle. We felt that the usual interpretation of the so called Mykonos style would be too restrictive for the location and mood of the environment. Great care has been taken in the positioning of the Villa on the site, ensuring that we maintained the natural rock formations and using them to shield the outside living areas from the prevailing North winds. The Villa is oriented towards the South (sea view) which is the ideal orientation in terms of the sun for both winter and summer All the bedrooms are large with luxurious on suite bathrooms, private terraces and amazing views of the sea and the adjacent river gorge. The whole house has VRV air-conditioning as well as under floor heating in order to be comfortable in both the hot summer and the cold winter. The planning concept of the layout was to create a free flowing living area of inside and out and private sleeping areas. In order to maximize the dramatic natural views and ambience of the surrounding landscape, a decision was taken to build extra large windows and doors. The timber shutters while plantation style, still have the traditional island look. Since Cooking is a passionate part of our lifestyle, we decided to create a modern kitchen that is both suited for cooking and entertaining. The extra long bar counter that runs the full length of the cooking area, has achieved this. It is a great place to cook and for everyone to congregate. With the interiors, we did not want anything that was remotely “sea shell or drift wood” looking. We wanted to create a modern comfortable interior. The beige/grey pallet was chosen to match the surrounding stone. The light fittings and furniture have been sourced from all over the world, but mainly from South Africa. We liked the combination of the natural wood with high gloss or crystal.
The mythical and mystical nation of Greece is scattered among thousands of islands and islets throughout the Aegean and Ionian seas. Fewer than 250 are inhabited. The country is one of Europe’s most mountainous countries, yet its bays and coves, sand dunes and blue flag beaches are often what second home buyers have their eyes on. 阅读更多关于豪宅 希腊
