He earned his bachelors degree in Business Finance from the University of Arizona. He also earned his juris doctorate/law degree from the University of Arizona, before returning to Phoenix. He practiced law in Phoenix for 12 years, earning partnership after only 5 years of practice and later joining a large international law firm.

He has always had a passion for community service and today serves on the Boards of Directors of the Contemporary Forum of the Phoenix Art Museum. Joe was also selected for, and is a graduate of, Valley Leadership, where he worked with other community leaders to better understand and serve the needs of our citizens, municipalities and charitable and civic organizations.
