Mara earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Boston University, School of the Arts. She resides in the Flatiron District with her husband. A former actress, Mara has been featured in BBC's “Super Homes”, a documentary film about buying and selling Manhattan real estate. Distributed both in the United States and internationally, the documentary highlights Mara's insights into, and passion for, the New York real estate market. Her properties have been featured in NBC “Open House”, CBS “Living Large”, The Wall Street Journal, Mansion Global, Forbes and The New York Times.
