Martha's professional career started nearly 40 years ago when, after graduating from Vassar College, she worked as an analyst for SIAC on Wall Street. After several years of testing systems changes to the programs that drive the financial markets, she traded the city life for suburbia and worked for a Princeton based software development company in the technical support division. Her experience in computer programming and application design proved to be a valuable asset when she was later employed by a local law firm. While there she produced, implemented and maintained comprehensive applications for the management of documentation supporting national products liability litigation and employment compensation claims. It was in this capacity that Martha was exposed to the world of municipal tax sale certificates---one that would captivate her for the next 10 years.
As New Jersey Portfolio Manager for a Fortune 500 company, Martha was responsible for the implementation and execution of procedures for the procurement and servicing of a sixty million dollar portfolio of tax sale certificates including due diligence, auction acquisition, assignments, redemptions and foreclosure. In this capacity, she has developed unique and lasting relationships with the 500+ tax collectors working within the State. Her desire to understand the laws governing the transfer of property in NJ led to the pursuit of a New Jersey Real Estate License.
Martha, mother of four adult children, all of whom attended the Princeton Regional Schools from kindergarten thru the 12th grade, benefits from the excellent programs and resources afforded to her by the community.
Martha is an avid long distance cyclist and has been passionately involved in the Anchor House Ride for Runaways for the past 26 years. She has spent countless hours on her bike on back roads in Hunterdon, Mercer, Somerset and Middlesex counties and is familiar with the network of roadways and multitude of neighborhoods that abound there.
We're thrilled to have Martha on board at Callaway Henderson Sotheby's International Realty and feel that her background in tax lien law and foreclosure, coupled with her in depth involvement in the schools and familiarity with so many of the surrounding neighborhoods make her a unique and talented asset to our team.
