Katy grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, where believe it or not, her passion for skiing began. She moved to Crested Butte with her husband Matt, in 1993.
In her spare time Katy also enjoys mountain biking and kayaking. She graduated from Western State College of Colorado in 1997.
