Joe Claburn has dedicated his life to the service of others: whether it be his extensive military career, his years as a teacher, coach, and mentor at the Texas Military Institute, or now as your realtor.
Joe joined the U.S. Army in 1995 in Alabama where he served honorably until his discharge in 2012 due to combat related injuries he sustained while serving as an Airborne Ranger. He served four combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq from 2001-2008 and was honored to be selected as the U.S. Army Exchange Officer for the United Kingdom where he served as a member of the British Parachute Regiment receiving the Queens Medal for Combat Action in Afghanistan fighting alongside British and Joint Forces. Included in his numerous awards and decorations are four Bronze Star Medals (with Valor Device) as well as being named the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his Ranger Course. Joe retired as a Major in February 2012 from Fort Leavenworth and immediately moved to San Antonio.
Once in San Antonio, Joe gave his full attention to the development of young minds as the Deputy Commandant of Cadets at Texas Military Institute from 2012-2016 where he was recognized as the Smart-Maher Educator of the Year.
Now Joe’s service is two-fold: service to his family and service to his community.
Joe is married to Kristen Starry with two children, Julia and William, who happily take up most of his time when he isn’t riding his Harley through the Texas Hill Country.
Joe is also a member of several local veteran organizations such as the Valor Club of San Antonio, Combat Veterans Motorcycle Association, Paralyzed Veterans of American, Disabled American Veterans, VFW, and American Legion.
As your realtor, you can look to Joe for truth, integrity, and reliability. You can rely on him to help you through the entire process. His service hasn’t ended, it has found a new beginning: with you and your home.
