Byron Wood grew up in the beautiful town of Sonoma in Northern California at the time not knowing that his family legacy would be continued on later in his life. His mother, Cynthia Wood, a real estate agent for over 40 years, not only was one of Sotheby’s International Realty’s top saleswomen in the state, but was also one of the original founders of the Sotheby’s International Realty - Wine Country Brokerage. She also was a board member and had an integral part in the California Association of Realtors. Because his mother was a successful real estate agent and his father ran the family rental property business, it was only natural that Byron continued that family legacy as a salesperson with Sotheby’s International Realty.
Byron not only has a passion for finding that perfect home for his clients in Ventura County, but has a professional background in building and design that allows him to lend advice and help buyers or sellers see the true potential in any home. Byron worked as a home building contractor as a late teen and also studied interior and exterior architectural design at the Academy of Art Institute in San Francisco in his early twenties. Byron has carried these skills with him throughout the years and his knowledge as it relates to homes extends far beyond simply selling or finding them for prospective buyers.
An avid golfer and surfer, Byron isn’t just passionate about the real estate business, but he is also a huge proponent of the Southern California lifestyle. To elaborate on this, Byron explained, “I am enamored with the idea that I get to broker not just the buying and selling of homes, but I like to establish a relationship between my clients and help them achieve that Southern California lifestyle by making their new home meet their needs and helping them in any way I can along the way.” Byron thrives on specializing in concierge-style client relationships; prior to becoming a real estate agent, he was a restaurant professional and restaurant owner. Impassioned with his love of food, wine and service, his clients are surely guaranteed to benefit from a professional relationship that few can offer.
Byron and his wife Lauren currently reside in Ventura with their two French Bulldogs, Tank and Peanut. Together they love to play golf, travel and enjoy the small-town community feel that Ventura has to offer.
