Living in a historic 17th century Zaans decor with contemporary luxury
De Boterton, as this unique monumental object is called, is an exact replica from 2006 of the original 17th century building, which once served as a factory/warehouse. The wealthy Zaanse history and contemporary comfort come together in this house. The house is in an excellent state of maintenance and has a gorgeous spacious sheltered garden, adjacent to the water, with private berth. This unique object was constructed with a steel construction, concrete floors and brick walls and finished with wood, which, in combination with the green painted facade, has been a characteristic feature for the Zaanstreek for centuries. The object was extended multiple times during the history of De Boterton on both the side and the back, which is why the house comes with a lot of space. A lot of time and attention was spent on adding luxury and comfort during the construction in 2006, while at the same time maintaining the character and the history in both the interior and exterior, which was clearly a success. A lovely family home to enjoy the picturesque village-like nature and the watery environment. Living in Zaanstad comes with the major benefit that you are only a small distance from Dam Square in Amsterdam (only 20 minutes by car), but you still live in a historical and village-like setting.
Entrance, vestibule from where the left front room (featuring its own kitchen), the hall and the beautifully finished garage with storage attic, which is currently in use as practice space, are accessible. Further on, the gorgeous kitchen diner with high beam ceiling and the large living room with fireplace and French doors to the garden are accessible from the hall.
The first floor is accessible using the stairs in the hall and provides access to a spacious bright landing, to which the spacious master bedroom, two children’s rooms, a spacious bathroom and a separate shower space and separate toilet are located.
There are two bedrooms on the top floor, of which one is a very large one which could also be used as extra living room. The attic includes a bathroom, laundry area and lots of extra storage space.
