The Historic Lamb Ranch (1877), is a well balanced, year round cattle operation in the beautifully diverse terrain of Eastern Oregon. The ranch is 7813 deeded acres with 512+/- acres of senior water rights for productive hay fields and green meadows. BLM grazing allotments (1192+/- AUM's) are out the gate and contiguous with the deeded land. Perennial Stinkingwater Creek is a unique watershed that is home to abundant wildlife, upland birds, water fowl, fish, diverse vegetation, native grasses and runs into the private well stocked reservoir. The ranch is very well watered with natural and developed springs and creeks for livestock and wildlife. The headquarters includes: the recently (2009) remodeled and updated original home. 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, living room, rock fire place, dining room, Chef inspired country kitchen, utility room 12x12 walk in, above ground cut stone cellar; bunkhouse; corrals; scales; 2 barns, shop and a recently upgraded, alternate energy, power system - solar, water turbine and generator system. The Lamb ranch nicely controls limited access to it’s allotments which limits encroachment during the hunting seasons. The 120 acre reservoir is considered the Jewell of the ranch, affording great fishing, hunting and fun recreational opportunities. Irrigation of the meadows, routinely lasts from April through October. Always a hay crop, and always aftermath grazing for livestock.
