The bay of Caulín and the coast of Isla Lacao offer us a beautiful natural place that shelters a variety of birds which choose this area as a seasonal habitat: flamingos, black-necked swans, herons, arapitos, graters, several kinds of ducks, herons and seagulls that continually flit across the bay. It has an infinity of seafood and fish that the locals extract in this area of abundant fishing.The Chacao Suspension Bridge that will connect the mainland with the Great Chiloe Island is currently under construction, it will be the longest bridge in South America, it is estimated that it will be ready starting 2023. Its access is located just 3 km from Isla Lacao shortening the travel time, by car, to Puerto Montt only 45 minutes.
