Magnolia, Texas, is situated at the junction of Farm roads 1774 and 1488, 20 miles southwest of Conroe and 45 miles northwest of Houston in southwestern Montgomery County. Magnolia township is a spare one-mile-square radius, but the Magnolia area spans roughly 12 miles in all directions. Residents enjoy proximity to George H. W. Known as Mink’s Prairie, the name was shortened to Mink by 1850.
