Tournai I Hôtel Duquesne de la Vinelle
This remarkable mansion with a surface area of ± 1200 m² probably dating from 1702 witnesses the so-called characteristical ‘Tournaisien' style. The building has retained all its original architectural and ornamental features. The traditional decorations mostly bear close comparison to the Régence or Rococo features of the Louis XV style. Located on a plot of ± 35 ares, the main building, between courtyard and garden, is separated from the street by the former communal parts of the property, which is therefore accessed by a large porch giving onto the courtyard with 2 garages.
On the courtyard side, a vast entrance hall with a majestuous staircase opens onto a series of adjoining rooms. On the ground floor, there are 13 so-called royal apartments, among which 3 reception rooms, a dining room, a kitchen, a back kitchen, 2 offices and a library. The upper floor serves 19 rooms among which 7 bedrooms (4 with wash basin), a lounge, a dining room and a kitchen. The tiled cellars cover the whole surface area of the house. In the attic, there are several living rooms which were formerly occupied by the servants. A wing was added to the Western side of the building.
Others: listed façades and roofs, concierge's lodge
