You turn down the road and all the congestion of Playa Guiones immediately lifts, the sky seems to get bigger, the stars brighter, and the Costa Rican countryside presents itself before your eyes. The only things that may stop your morning surf commute are horses or cows in the street. The owner has planted multiple bird of paradise, banana trees, palm trees, and native flowers attracting butterflies. Even the rare Blue Morpho, Costa Rican's national butterfly, can be seen here. Lastly, let's not forget the Howler Monkeys which are in abundance in this area. The same can not be said for other areas getting developed.
