Sun Peaks Resort
Sun Peaks, British Columbia

Sun Peaks, Canada’s 3rd largest ski area, is located in BC’s sunny interior and is only a 4.5 hour drive from Vancouver.  Sun Peaks is one of the leading ski experiences in Canada.  With 3,678 acres of skiable terrain on 3 mountains, 6 meters of light dry snow, and 2,000 hours of sunshine annually, Sun Peaks offers world class skiing and snowboarding plus much more.

The BC Interior is known for its light, dry champagne powder and there is so much to ski and ride at Sun Peaks. Enjoy a variety of terrain with two alpine bowls, green, blue and black runs and gladed areas. For budding park enthusiasts Sun Peaks offers a well developed terrain park over 9 acres with 3 distinct zones for beginner, intermediate and expert.

Outdoor Enthusiasts can also enjoy a wide range of additional winter activities including, snowshoeing, dogsledding, snowmobiling, tubing, skating and cross country skiing.
Sun Peaks has quietly evolved into a favourite Nordic destination.  Over 30 kilometers of impeccably groomed and track-set trails are accessible right from the village and your hotel. Truly unique to Sun Peaks, guests can hop aboard the Morrisey Express Chairlift for exceptional access to seemingly endless backcountry terrain.

Sun Peaks is Canada’s newest mountain resort municipality.  This vibrant community has its own school, several hotels, shops and dining options within a charming ski-through village.  The locals are known for their warm & welcoming hospitality.  Like any mountain resort, Sun Peaks attracts some very interesting people – from all over the world and from all walks of life.  The Director of Skiing is Olympic gold medalist and Canadian Senator Nancy Greene-Raine.  Nancy is still on the slopes almost every weekend and will take you for a tour of her favourite spots.  Some of the most colourful characters are the self-proclaimed Sun Peaks Antiques, a group of over 100 enthusiastic skiers and snowboarders who have carved the slopes since the early days of the mountain.

There’s a remarkable transformation that takes place when our snowy winter wonderland morphs into a stunning summer alpine paradise.  Playing takes on many forms and our community has evolved into a regional hub for weekly festivals and special events from July to September.  Listen to live outdoor concerts, stroll the village, discover shops and cafes, or engage in the grandest of all vacation pastimes doing absolutely nothing at all.

Sun Peaks is home to British Columbia’s highest elevation 18-hole course, meaning balls fly farther and the temperature is often cooler than the valley below.  Hike through brilliantly coloured alpine meadows of wildflowers after being whisked up the Sunburst Chairlift.  Explore our downhill mountain bike park, or head out on our extensive cross country biking trail network.  Trade dry land for water and try stand-up paddle boarding or rent a canoe.  It’ all possible here at Canada’s Alpine Village, Sun Peaks.
