Philip A. White, Jr. is president and chief executive officer of Sotheby's International Realty, overseeing the company’s affiliate network and company-owned brokerages.
Under his leadership, the Sotheby’s International Realty® brand announced that, in 2021, its global network achieved a record $204 billion in global sales volume, the highest annual sales volume performance in the history of the brand.
In 2021, White was also appointed as Chairman of Concierge Auctions, the leading global luxury real estate auction marketplace, as part of a joint venture with Sotheby’s auction house and Realogy Holdings Corp., the largest full-service residential real estate services company in the United States.
In early 2019, White added president and chief executive officer of Sotheby's International Realty, Inc. to his title, taking on the responsibility of managing the brand’s company-owned brokerage business, in addition to his role as president and chief executive officer of Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC, the affiliate network, which he has held since February 2013. Since his appointment as CEO, he has cultivated the growth of the global brand into 79 countries and territories, with more than 1,000 offices and more than 25,000 sales associates.
White formerly served as president and chief operating officer of Sotheby’s International Realty Affiliates LLC, overseeing the global brand’s operations, business growth, servicing platform, membership sales process, and relationship with the Sotheby’s auction house.
Prior to his July 2004 appointment to chief operating officer, White spent 12 years with NRT LLC, the nation’s largest residential real estate brokerage company, leading one of the company’s most productive offices.
After having formed his own independent real estate brokerage in Atlanta in the late 1980s, Philip White Properties, Inc., an affiliate of the Sotheby’s International Realty brand, White sold the firm to the predecessor of NRT in 1992.
From 1980 to 1988, White held several positions within the Sotheby's International Realty network. As senior vice president and regional manager for the southeast United States, he was responsible for developing a network of affiliated brokers as well as listing and marketing properties in cooperation with the brokers. He also held management positions at brokerages in both New York City and Palm Beach, Fla.
White received his bachelor’s degree in commerce and finance from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
