Mid-December 2012 marked the passage of a historic agreement over Lake Tahoe, between the states of California and Nevada. The extensive plan is designed to shape the development at the lake for years to come. Supporters of the plan believe it will act as a means to improve Lake Tahoe’s environment and economy. Critics argue the plan will harm the environment by loosening the strict rules which have been enforced upon surrounding land use since the 1987 Regional Plan.
