International Wooden Boat Show Returns to Lake Tahoe

Once every 10 years, Lake Tahoe has the opportunity to witness a world-class display of classic and vintage boats. Sierra Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to support the return of these antique beauties to Lake Tahoe on Friday, Sept. 23rd, and Saturday, Sept. 24th, at the Sierra Boat Company in Carnelian Bay, CA. The 41st Annual Antique and Classic Boat Society’s International Boat Show is being hosted by the Northern California Chapter of ACBS.

The show is 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. both days. Admission is only $10 per person. Kids 12 and under are free! Tickets sold at the gate the day of the show.

In addition to the boat show, there are three incredibly informative symposiums you won’t want to miss on Saturday, Sept. 24th, at Sierra Boat Company:

9:30am – 11:00am:
Subject: Vintage Maritime Engines: Preventive maintenance and how to keep them running well.
Speaker: Herb Hall

11:00am – 12:00 noon:
Subject: How to improve your boat’s performance with the proper rudder and prop
Speaker: Doug Mehring

12:00 noon – 1:30pm:
Subject: Different varnishing techniques will be discussed and there will be demonstrations.
Speakers: Sierra Boat Company Specialist

Time will be allocated for questions for all sessions.

Sponsored by the Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS), this passionate, exciting and UNIQUE show only happens in Tahoe every 10 years and will feature more than 72 UNIQUE vintage and classic watercraft from North America. “We are honored to have been asked by the International ACBS board of directors to host this unique and incredible boat show,” comments Barbara Foster, President of the Northern California/Tahoe ACBS chapter, “With another fabulous year of boating coming to a close, we celebrate the season with a tremendous event memorializing the shear glory, beauty and passion of our mahogany icons.”

The NEW Tahoe Maritime Museum, located in the heart of Tahoe City, will be on deck with one of their award winning classic crafts as well.
