From its 1911 inception, it has grown into a global event, witnessing social and equality changes (and dare we mention fashion trends from flapper dresses and poodle skirts to business suits).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Let\u2019s be honest; women Realtors juggle family and work. They\u2019re wives and mothers, grandmothers, industry veterans, or building a career solo. They own homes, put their heart and soul into every client, volunteer in their communities, and set the stage for the next generation. They show properties (even in the snow), negotiate contracts, and advise sellers and investors.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">So, in honor of <\/span><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/holidays\/womens-history-month\"><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Women\u2019s History Month,<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\"> we\u2019re taking a peek into females in the real estate industry, their advancement of homeownership, and asking what is on the minds of property sellers today.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">But, first, some real estate industry statistics:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 500;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">88.5% of interior designers and decorators are women<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 500;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">30% of architects are female<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 500;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">11% of construction industry professionals are women<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 500;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">10.76 million U.S. homes are owned and occupied by single women<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 500;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Before 1900, rarely were women able to hold property in their name<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Fun Fact:\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">Corrine Simpson, a real estate broker from Seattle, Washington, was the first female to join the National Association of Realtors (NAR) in 1910. Today, we stand on her shoulders to prove what is possible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 600;\">In The Driver\u2019s Seat<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 500;\">On a national scale, 66% of real estate brokers and agents are female.
