One of the most charming neighborhoods in Brooklyn, Boerum Hill is well-known for its tree-lined streets and historic brownstone houses. The Boerums were Dutch people who arrived in Brooklyn in the year 1649 and rose to eminence as farmers in this neighborhood. The area was referred to as South Brooklyn until the neighborhood gained popularity in 1990s and the name “Boerum Hill” was then appointed.
