In the early '70s Annette VanOrden Graw was a single mother working as a licensed clinical pathologist when she decided to find a job that would allow her to be close to her children. Her real estate career was born in 1974, and five years later Annette began teaching real estate-earning her Master Instructor license from the California Association of Realtors in 1980. In 1985 Annette was the founding broker for South Bay Brokers, Inc. and became a broker associate with the firm in 2000. She received the 2003 Distinguished Realtor Award from the California Association of Realtors, an honor awarded to only one individual each year. Today she is an active member of the South Bay Association of Realtors and continues to teach real estate, traveling throughout California. She is also a Director for Life and will be REALTOR® Emeritus next year. Annette loves spending time with her family, including two grown sons and four grandchildren, as well as going to the beach and playing golf.

"A good work ethic."

"I have mostly referral clients, either from past clients who know my work ethic or referrals from other Realtor who k now my involvement and commitment to our industry."

"Our firm, which I helped found, has always been on the cutting edge of technology and education for our agents."
What keeps you interested in real estate?
"My commitment to ethics and professionalism, and my desire to teach other Realtors and my clients the importance of treating everyone fairly and honestly."

How do you give back to your commu nity?
"I have always been actively involved in my community of Manhattan Beach (with St. Bede's Episcopal Church, the Canterbury USC board, the Diocese of Los Angeles, the South Bay Free Clinic board and the Manhattan Beach Planning Commission). I b elieve that you have to give in order to receive, and I am proud that I have been able to serve in many different ways."
