Toronto, the Provincial capital of Ontario, is the largest city in Canada. Situated on the southwestern shore of northern Lake Ontario, Toronto covers 243 square miles (630 square kilometers) and is consistently within the top most populated regions in North America.

Buildings in Toronto vary tremendously in design and age. Many date back to the mid-19th century while many other commercial and residential buildings have been built this century, including a surge in new condominium developments downtown. Outside of downtown, numerous residential communities have their own unique character. Rosedale, Cabbagetown, The Annex and Yorkville are known for their Victorian and Edwardian-era buildings.
