Local Expertise. Global Connections.
The great outdoors, travel, and helping others – three things that Courtney Wiedel is passionate about in his life. Somehow, through luck or strategy, but probably a combination of both, he has figured out how to weave these three things into making a living for most of his life. The lure of the outdoors has driven Courtney to create a “life-template” on which to share his passions, from fly fishing, to alpine search & rescue, to teaching elementary school, and of course, into his real estate career. His desire to explore and travel has taken him to many places – from ski patrolling and guiding in Colorado, to Alaska, and most recently, living abroad in New Zealand for almost 10 years, where he and his wife started their family.
While in New Zealand, in an effort to continue to diversify and expand his experiences and expertise, Courtney made the occupational transition from skiing and trained to become a teacher. The importance and priority of family, however, brought the Wiedel’s back to Colorado, and ultimately, to Steamboat. Having been born in Colorado, something about the Rocky Mountains just feels like “home.”
Courtney is, at heart, a people person who has that unique ability to build rapport and relationships with almost anyone. These traits have been a tremendous asset to him when guiding clients on the trout stream, conducting rescue operations in emergency situations in the mountainous backcountry, in the classroom, and now in the world of real estate.
Courtney is proud to be part of the Steamboat Sotheby’s International Realty team, with unparalleled access to a global network of real estate professionals and exposure to buyers and sellers from all around the world.
With his family, Courtney is honored and excited to be a part of the Steamboat community. He would love to share this amazing area with you and your family.
